When I first hoped to see Snow Angels in print, I decided to come up with a concept for the cover, and I drew this sketch. Actually I drew more than one, but this was the one that made me happiest at the time. I’m not much of an artist. Sometimes I impress myself—but then I’m easily impressed. Anyway, it seems appropriate to the season.
Snow Angels is available as a free e-book on my website. My multi-talented husband, Ken, created the cover art you see there.

I’m halfway through Snow Angels and it’s very good. I even toyed with idea of staying up to finish it, but the memory of past headaches and drooping eyelids convinced me otherwise. I’d love to contribute money for it, but I will not use PayPal. Let us think of another way. Check in the mail? Huzzah! What a concept.

After reading Snow Angels, everyone should order a copy of Shadows Fall. I am nearly finished reading it and it’s a dandy — a suspenseful tale that grabbed me with the first paragraph. It defies genre because it’s not just some clickity-clack mystery/detective yarn. Barbara crafts a tale that is rich with character development and sweeping descriptive phrasing. Nearly every page is a cliffhanger. I’ve never had so much fun while being in a state of constant, perplexed concern for a protagonist. It’s nearly 600 pages long — and I don’t want it to end!

Wonderful arts, Babara, amazing!
But it really sucks that [spoiler snipped by admin], it hurts much more than just an accident. Anyone who suffers such a drama would feel part of himself dying at the moment. If everyone cares about others more at all times, such tragedies may not have happened. We should all learn to appreciate and love!
By the way, the cover is really a fantastic art, and also the cover of shaddows fall.
A talented genius is Ben, I love the style it displays.
And both have very beautiful names, , , great!!!
I love them! Thanks for Ben’s and your talent.

I think that it’s a wonderful book. I couldn’t stop reading it. You did great job of suspecting multiple characters that I couldn’t predict the end, and that is hard to do with me. Also, your sketch is great, and speaking as an artist myself, I think you should sketch more.

I want to thank each and every one of you who has read and commented on Snow Angels. It’s gratifying to think that the internet can make this book available to people all over the world, so that if anyone anywhere who has internet access and can read English comes across it they can read it. I was reluctant to offer this book for free this way. I went through a lot of discussion and thought. It’s you who’ve commented here who assure me that I made the right decision. I hope that you find reading it worth your time.
Again, to everyone who’s read Snow Angels and commented (in reverse chronological order):

G, did you try the URL with all chapters on one page? It is less than 500K. Both that page and the individual Chapter 17 page seems to be working fine for me, so the issue could be somewhere on the packet route from Barbara’s site to your computer. Sometimes the Internet has glitches: perhaps tomorrow the route will be more reliable.

I was searching for a little something to read and I came across Snow
Angels. My first thought was, its a little longer than I’m looking for but I’ll read a couple of chapters and see how it goes. From the first chapter, I was hooked. I enjoyed every moment of your story, and I can’t believe it hasn’t been published. Its an amazing story, one that I couldn’t stop reading. I really think this would make a great series for Harlequin and the next two books could include Paige and Rose. Goodluck, get this published and I’ll be watching for your next one. I happened upon your book while I was bored and needed something good to read. I did a search for free internet books and found yours. I truly enjoyed every bit of it. It had the makings of a good sale. I strongly urge you to publish this and put it out there one the shelves for everyone to enjoy. It was wonderful, suspenseful, thrilling, and very romantic. I think it was well worth the search, keep up the good work!!!

I absolutely loved it. I look often online for novels that have a good plot. Too often, the grammar is horrible, and the spelling is chaotic. Yours, however, wasn’t like that at all. I also appreciated that while there was romance in it, it did not go into a graphic description of anything. Thank you very much!

very good one, i loved the way you detailed places and people, and i think the details in each character’s look was matching to his personality, i think Alan would have deserved Tess’s love more than Joe but in the end it was brilliant, anyway great work i’d like to read more of it!,

Dear Barbara
Snow angels was my first ebook. I had to take of one chapter in at time and then put it in a natural reader program. I am dyslexic and I normally listen to books on tape. It was a little weird listening to a book read by a robot but the story was so good you are writing was very much like Stored Woods who I love. I’ll have to see if any of your other mysteries are available on tape. I really enjoy it your story very much. Do you have any ongoing characters? I always enjoy ongoing characters because you get to know them better and I really enjoy that.

Wow. I’ve never been this absorbed in a book before. Thank you. You had me from the first page to the last not wanting to move, to keep reading till the end. I’ve read many books and have three bookshelves to prove it and not one of them has captured me as much as this one has. It’s Easter Monday and I’ve spent the last four hours mesmerized with this book.
I’ll be doing a google search as soon as I finish this to find other books that you have written. Keep up the excellent work. I will recommend this one to everyone I know.

I am in Costa Rica with my husband, who is on sabbatical and studying Spanish at a language institute. We have been here 1 month and will be here for another month. I love to read, but could only bring a few books with me, because of weight limit for luggage. So I was on the Internet, desperately looking for something to read when I came across your book, “Snow Angels.” Once I started reading, I didn’t want to stop even to sleep. It is really, really good! Thank you for writing it and posting it on the Internet. I have written your name down and plan to look for your books when I get home. Please keep writing!

This is such a beautiful story. It shows some real hardships but everything works out in the end. From the first chapter,I was completely hooked, I couldn’t stop reading it!! It just goes to show that whatever happens, the truth will always come out! So a big congratulations to the Author of this story - Barbara!! Snow Angels is brilliantly written, so simply explained yet very detailed, i found i could really get familiar with the places in the story. Have you written many other ebooks? The story is definetely worth reading… cant stop until we reach the last page… excellent work..
The plot is good but after sometime it had become very predictable. The intial chapters were also a bit dragged. So finally with little suspense and more twists and turns, this could have been more interesting to read….

I thought it was wonderfully written. I would switch back and forth between who the killer was. It was Rose, no it’s Angie. Maybe it was Jessica, or even Alan. I couldn’t wait to find out what happened. Every moment I had, I would read. Wonderful, absolutely wonderful.

Thank you for the escape, although I couldn’t finish the Prologue because it was too close to the real life experience I had shortly after turning 18. So many things like that do separate us unnecessarily from family and home, like in your story, sometimes forever.
So, thank you for the catharsis, for a feeling that there might be justice someday, even if we only imagine it.

Hi barbara ur book was amazing, romantic, and full of suspence so that we would have to keep turning the pages. Not many authors these days have the ability to create a masterpiece without including any bad parts in the story u see the problem is that most novels have too much shall i say sexual content( to much info!! ) which in my opinion is totally unnecesary neways keep up the good work and wish u all the best in ur future novels!!!!!
P.S : sorry about all the bad spelling,
