We have been having wet and rainy weather in Oregon and it is now, finally, turning into summer again...it's 92, today.

Helen --- That's how I feel about the calendar, a vicious circle that always takes me back to summer. ;)

Eric --- Hey, housecleaning IS a superpower! If anyone ever sees my entire house looking spotless at the same time, it will likely be that a superhero took pity on me and came to my rescue. I only manage partial spotlessness, and that only once in a blue moon. Why does dust always come back? That's what I want to know. Who invited it?

It's possible you tried to post at the same time the server that hosts my site had a serious hard drive hiccup. I think that was yesterday morning.

Hmmm...did I leave my comment on the wrong entry or didn't it stick?

Anyway, as I thought I said, I like that modest superpower. Reminds me of Dishman's power for cleaning.

I just finished reading; Snow Flower and the Secret Fan and I guess China had/has some very hot summers also... what a great historical novel, I really enjoyed it!

The Ellery Queen does sound great though right now!

It is so much more challenging for me to practice the stronger yoga I like in this hot weather, then I don't and my body starts getting achy...it feels like a viscous circle!

Hang in there Barb, and all!

Creechman --- Yes, all are subject to my interrogation (kidding). I'm not sure I would survive a summer in Texas. Hey, Ellery Queen should be nice summer reading.

Susan --- I try to conserve, but I'm thankful for air conditioning on the days I really need it.

Cas --- I think some people are more sensitive to heat.

We just came in from watching hummingbirds dance around the feeder. They were quiet the past few days, but today's a little cooler and even the birds seem happier.

I'm not sure I always go with the flow. One of my main rules in life is to just do the next thing. At least that way, I'm not behind the eight ball - at least not often.

Cas
Don has a lot of trouble with hot weather. And he doesn't like summer nearly as well as winter.

To add to comment number 1.

Well, my "half-baked body" tends towards day-to-day errands after work and the "new" discovery of Ellery Queen magazine's mystery stories. I'm not up to another novel just yet. :)

I too melt in the heat, so I do turn on the AC as soon as I start feeling uncomfortable. I'm used to getting up early--5 a.m.--so I've learned the secret of the cooler mornings and dusk to dark opportunities.

I "think" your question goes out to men as well as women.

For me, I go day by day when I'm down physically, emotionally, or even hour by hour.

But then the sun rises and it rains.

Welcome to Houston.
