I have read the same lack of interest in writing on many blogs. I feel very similar...I prefer my books these days.

We are expecting Snow this afternoon. Looks like gardening is definitely over for this year in my area!

It may be hot there, but it's really feeling cold here. We are fully into Fall. But I love Fall, so I am happy about that.

I agree with you about the weather. I am SO tired of temperatures in the 90's. That bit of rain just pushed the humidity up to match the temperature. What's with this weather, anyway? Meditating on rain and cooler temps--and hoping soon!

I could use some warm temperatures. Here in northeast Pennsylvania we might see our first frost of the year tonight.

Like you I haven't been blogging and am not sure why except that I don't seem to have anything interesting to blog about. I don't like to bore people with my writing, least of all myself! Fiction is easier in that you can just make silly stuff up.

I have an .rss feed on Bloglines so you -- or anyone else I read -- can go weeks or months without blogging, but I'll be alerted as soon as you do. Works well for me.

I read a weird hodgepodge of stuff, including lots of bits and pieces for research. The last few days I've been playing text adventures released for the annual Interactive Fiction Competition. It's one thing that distresses me about today's emphasis on bestsellers in publishing. Although most of us can enjoy the occasional bestseller at some common level, the books we enjoy most are often idiosyncratic ones that happen to hit us on a more nearly individual level.

Hi Barbara,

Thanks for writing that note. Maybe it is all the politics and finance issues right now...makes me want to keep my nose in a book too! I found a good novel that I am reading, The Teahouse Fire by Ellis Avery. About an American orphan in Japan who lives at a tea ceremony school, in struggling times. Happy fishing, I mean reading! :-)
