He would sleep peacefully, his tail hanging down, upon the narrow wood...even with workers banging nails not so far away from him. Cats are awesome. I think if she were an outdoor cat, she'd spend most of her time up a tree, or on the roof. And, from what you say, a determined one. Nothing is going to get between her and her shelf-view of you. Is she always so companionable? Misty follows me around from room to room; Callie parks herself and waits for me to return. Max sleeps where I am most likely to trip over him--thankfully, he's black and the carpet is beige, or I'd have a broken leg by now, I'm sure. She has grown into a beautiful cat.
